LaCrosse Track Meet
April 11, 2025
Track teams compete at LaCrosse. The first track meet of the season led to a lot of success for Ness City athletes. Seven schools brought some “really good competition” that added to an already challenging day of Kansas spring weather. The boys claimed the 1st place trophy over 2nd place by ONE point! The girls were also successful and brought home 2nd place. A combined seven meet records were broken by Ness City athletes!
The athletes are excited to see how this track season will progress. Hunter S. (sophomore) believed the first meet helped the team set “marks for improvement throughout the season”. Drake W’s. (soph) goal is “to break the Long Jump record”. Thane B. (soph) “wants to throw over 40 feet in the shot put.”
Taegin L. (junior) thought the meet “went really well.” Her goal is to “set a personal record (pr) in the 100 meter dash, 300 hurdles, and the two sprint relays.”
Brecklyn B. (soph) and Hannah Y. (junior) both believe “the 4X800 relay is off to a good start. Individual leg times will improve.” Stephany E. (junior) “opened up” and ran the 800 with a 2:36 time. Her goal is to “run “below 2:30.”
Good luck to all the track members as they compete this season!
