Eagle Dash Returns! Last Day Shenanigans!
Eagle Dash is a fun activity which divided the students into teams that would rotate and visit different teachers to participate in “minute-to-win-it” games. Each game went by quickly with only 20 minutes per session. Students enjoyed challenging trivia games, a Christmas karaoke, candy cane stacking, snow shovel race, horse play, rapid fire, Grinch Pop-It, and various video games.
Kori “thought the Obstacle Course with Mr. Flax was awesome. There was a ping pong ball that you had to blow through an obstacle course that was set up on a slanted table. The goal was to get it in a cup. Some people never did! It was challenging.”
Miley said, “Mrs. Muse’s game was also entertaining. Everyone was involved and having fun. Building those towers took a steady hand. Mr. J’s was a blast. Everyone was singing! The choir kids loved it!”
Scores were kept in the two divisions (high school and junior high) with the winning team from each division earning “a lunch from an adult” certificate. This will allow the student to order lunch from a local restaurant, send the adult to pick it up, pay for it, and deliver it to the student just in time for lunch! The teams placing 2nd received a token from Western Fuel for a 32 oz slushie!
The Eagle Dash was completed before lunch, as it was game day for the basketball teams who left early. The afternoon session allowed the remaining students a choice in their activities. Dividing the last two hours into four 30 minute sessions, students choose from a movie, Wii games, Christmas crafts, music and poetry, free play on computer, card games, board games, coloring, and video games (XBox 360 and Wii).
Thank you to all the teachers for stepping out of their comfort zones and having a fun day with the kids! It was a great way to wrap up the 1st semester!
