FFA Poultry Contest

April 03, 2025

On Wednesday, April 9th, we will be hosting our District Poultry contest for students across the FFA district. They will have 5 different rotations: poultry carcass placing classes, Egg Exterior Quality Grading and Written Factors, Identification of Carcass Parts, Boneless Further Processed Poultry Meat Products and a 30 question exam over the poultry industry.

This event is typically held in conjunction with raising Spring Meat chickens.  This allows students to go through the entire poultry industry to gain knowledge and compete at this contest. This is a relatively new (or brought back) contest in which Ness City's advisor spear-headed the event's organizing. (In the future this contest will be held in conjunction with other contests at Gray County fairgrounds due to Ness City's distance from other schools.)

We are expected to have at least 50 students from across the FFA district competing in this contest. Ness City is expected to have at least 8 competing on April 9th in this contest.
